UWI school

It may be all that, but if I have to pay a pound and four crowns for my child to go to that school, they should not be getting homework that only I can do. It's madness to conceive of anything otherwise. What's the point and purpose of homework if the child cannot complete at least 50% of it by himself?

Mad Pup

No it's not a cute version of mad dog, it's UTT's Pre-University Programme. The mad part is they want to interview applicants who are over 25yrs old to "determine suitability" - now if that isn't mad, I don't know the definition! Why on earth would they need to interview someone to determine suitability if it's just a "pre-University" programme? It's not like they're admitting you to a degree programme or giving it for free, you still have to pay to attend - so what's the big deal about interviewing applicants? And why not interview the ones who are below the age of 25? Those are the ones who should be screened for suitability. They're usually immature and if they have matriculated yet at UWI or USC, they're unprepared, until they've had some time to age and mature!

Bankers' fat bonuses

US Bank executives got big fat bonuses at the end of 2008, despite the economic melt-down. If that isn't a clear case of madness, I don't know what madness is. Did they even stop for a minute to think about what they got and consider giving it back? Even if they had no choice in the decision - although I sincerely doubt they were helpless in that situation - they could just have decided to re-inject funds where appropriate to help the financial situation. I guess that is their twisted minds would be madness. Why should they care about the bank when they can secure their own future, be it at the expense of taxpayers?
